About

Collaboration is key: 10 institutions across Harvard worked together to make this multifaceted exploration possible.

From September 24-28, the Harvard Global Health Institute hosted Outbreak Week, a unique multidisciplinary effort investigating and engaging with epidemic and pandemic preparedness in the 21stcentury, inspired by the centennial of the 1918 influenza pandemic. Leading researchers, policy makers, health advocates, economists, doctors, journalists, historians and other experts — from various schools at Harvard as well as other institutions in the U.S. and the world —  came to Harvard University to take a fresh look at disease outbreaks and how prepared we are for the next big health crisis.
